K2 Logistics to pick-up and deliver Grocery Items to hundreds of Minnesota families still displaced by the flood from their homes.
It's been three months since a devastating flood in Southwest Minnesota nearly washed away the town of Rushford. Nearly 400 families are still busy rebuilding and have not yet been able to return to their homes. But thanks to the charitable efforts of Southwest Metro Area Girl Scouts and transportation partner K2 Logistics - many of those Rushford families will be delivered special Thanksgiving care packages that include grocery bags stuffed with food items and cards with well wishes.
"Hundreds of Minnesota families had their lives turned upside down," said Troop Leader Gina Szafraniec of Bloomington. "My Girl Scouts wanted to try and reach out and do something to let them know we are thinking about them." Girl Scout troops from the Southwest metro area launched food drives in their schools and within their families. As part of their mission of community service, these Girl Scouts are working to make the world a better place through organized efforts to not only support those in need but by building skills that they can keep with them for a lifetime.
A local food drive drop off site has been set at a church in Bloomington. All items that have been collected will be picked up and delivered to the residents in Rushford by K2 Logistics in time for Thanksgiving. Headquartered in Eagan, K2 Logistics focuses on a single-source supply chain management with ground, airfreight, and international services. The K2 Cares program aims to help communities and people in need. |
